Can you use the old pre filter to replace th new star filter on the V8 ,it fits just don’t know if it will work as well.

You know, I am not really sure. They look different to me. The shape, length, maybe even the way they works. Our seals in the machine when we pull the trigger. I’m really not sure that dyson would recommend it.

Um. I wouldn’t think it would be as effective. You might have the ‘star’ shape gap letting out dust when you use it. I’m sure they create a seal in the top of the cleaner so nothing escapes.

The filters are not interchangeable, so you would not be able to use the new filter on an older V8 model. Filters for your V8 are still available, however, should they ever need to be replaced.

Thanks guys I tried the one out of my other v8 seems to work ok, just have a few of the old ones and didn’t want to have to buy more for my new V8
