Suggestion to improve behaviour of the charging indicator

Hi,

I just want to suggest to think about the behaviour of the charging indicator LED of my V6 animalpro: Currently this LED is permanently lit when charging and turns off completely when fully charged. Hence, it does not catch my eye when the charging cycle has been completed which results in excessive charging time. Even if I assume that this does not affect the lifetime of the battery I would just like to avoid such excessive charging times by getting a visible optical reminder to remove the charging cable. Hence, I suggest to change the LED behaviour so that it is blinking while in charging state, and turns to a steady lit state once the charging process is completed. I think this behaviour might be desirable by many other customers too.

I do not want to initiate any fruitless discussion about the product design (which is just great!), nor do I need any response: I just wanted to let you know about my thinking so you may or may not take this into consideration…

Thanks… fslaw

Hi @fslaw,

Welcome to the Dyson Community, and thanks for your feedback here!

The Dyson V6™ range was based on a design developed a number of years ago, and most Dyson cordless vacuums now include an onboard LCD screen. This displays a range of information during use, and signals the need for maintenance. While charging, it shows a clear charge level percentage.

Further to this, Dyson cordless vacuums’ intelligent control software ensures the battery will only take in enough power to fully recharge, then to keep itself topped up. It’s not possible to overcharge the battery, and damage won’t be caused by leaving it connected to the charger cord or wall dock in between uses.

Hope this information helps!
