Community News and Updates – July 2022 | Dyson Community
Skip to main content

Welcome to July’s edition of our community newsletter.

Alongside the usual topic points, monthly growth, content, platform improvements, I’ve got some very exciting news to share with you all!

But first…

Let’s talk visitors and community growth

Since expanding the platform in May and incorporating our other category areas, we’ve seen yet another increase in our month-on-month traffic.

  • We’ve exceeded 100,000 unique visitors - These navigated through to us via the Dyson App and as direct.
  • Platform engagement grew by 8% - Even more of you are liking, commenting, and creating content.
  • We increased our registered member pool by a further 6% - We’ve exceeding 2,300 members.

I’ve said it before, and I am sure I will say it again. This continued increase from our visitors and registered members alike is fantastic. It helps to evidence the content we are creating, the improvements we are making and support our members and moderators alike are providing isn’t just beneficial to those that are already registered, but it is supporting everyone visiting the community. Keep up the great work everyone!

Let’s talk content

We’ve once again been busy behind the scenes, so we’re making this section all about our content. We’ll be sharing information on What’s new to the platform and What’s performing above the rest.

What’s new

In support of the expansion into our other categories, we’ve added a host of new ‘Lighting’ articles. These are aimed to help guide, support, and offer even more advice to new and everyday users.

What’s performing

We’ve once again seen an increase in the number of topics being created.

While this continues to align with the additions of our new category areas and the continued maturity in our Air treatment category, as we continue to scale, we suspect there will be a healthy split across our entire category range.

The top three ‘most visited’ categories during this time were:

  1. Ask the Community
  2. Community news and information
  3. Air treatment - Machine maintenance

The top three ‘most visited’ topics/articles during this time were:

  1. Community Introduction
  2. Air treatment - Cleaning the sensor(s)
  3. Understanding which Dyson machine I own

What’s next

Content calendar

Working cross-functionally, we’ve identified a host of content from across our entire category range. This is the content we feel would be great to share on the community. These include new tips on using, getting the most out of your machine(s) and some helpful guides to support through the seasonal weather.

In fact, we already made a start on this in July by releasing content into our ‘Tips and tricks’ forum. We’d urge you to take a look if you haven’t already!

Over the next few months, we’ll start to release even more into this area and will ensure it is consistent across the entire category offering.

Sneak Peak

Since our January newsletter, we’d been dropping subtle and not so subtle hints at cement the platforms future in the wider Dyson Digital Space. Since this very first mention, we’ve been optimising the platform each month. Updating the creative styling, onboarding moderators, optimising the sites content, and most recently introducing our existing category range onto the Community homepage and the Knowledge base.

I am extremely excited and truly proud to say that the Community is being released globally.

While we will remain as an English-speaking platform, we will become searchable via web browsers globally. This is where we’ll begin to be indexed and our content will start appearing in users search results, we’ll start to build our online authority by becoming integrated into the website of our leading markets and we’ll become featured as another ‘Support’ option in other areas around Dyson.

The team and I couldn’t have made this possible without each one of the community’s participants. From our registered members who created content, responded to posts, answered question, and helped to solved them, through to our visitors who activity engaged and interacted with the sites. Each of you have made this possible and through doing so, we will make the community the best place it can be for everyone that visits. Thank you.

That’s it. As always, we’ll be posting regular updates in our ‘Content calendar’, letting you know what our most recent additions are. If you have a suggestion for future content or just simply wish to provide feedback, feel free to create a question or conversation. The best place to do this in our Ask the Community forum.

Speak to you all again very soon!
