HP09 Formaldehyde and catalytic filter

Hi all, I have HP09 about 2 years now - Catalytic Filter smell has gone too bad so I had to remove to use it.I cannot purchase this again as I cannot see this.It this filter washable? Would it kill the function of the filter if I wash ?I contact Dyson customer centre but it seems they have no knowledge of  this.Thank you in advance.

How much different is in formaldehyde and VOC removal capabilities between Big+Quiet (BP04) and Hot+Cool (HP09)?

I’ll buying air purifier for my house, because formaldehyde and VOC level is very high.(formaldehyde: 0.4~1.2mg/㎥, VOC: 0.6~2.4mg/㎥) My candidate purifiers are Big+Quiet (BP04) and Hot+Cool (HP09) Formaldehyde.The selection is a bit difficult.My room is about 16㎡, but formaldehyde and VOC level is high. Anyone who bought or tested these two models, How much different is in formaldehyde and VOC removal capabilities between these two?Do you think HP09 is enough to remove the gases in my room?

how to manually force a clean cycle on ph3a

I tried numerous ways to force a clean cycle (messed up the process on the first one!) pressing the button three quick times or holding the cycle button doesn’t help. Any solutions?

VOC sudden spike. Is it normal to always have been at 0?

I just noticed a spike in VOC and can’t figure out what’s going on.  Opening the windows seems to help, but closing the window just spikes it back up.  The fan downstairs did go down on its own after a few hours though even with the window closed.  However, the one upstairs still is in the yellow.Also, I noticed that VOC has essentially always been at 0 until the spike.  Is that normal?

It just keeps getting worse

I thought I’d be safe if I asked support the estimated time it would take to receive a replacement unit or a solution - 10 days is what I was told three times in different phone calls.Welp, its been one month since Dyson received the unit and the best I was offered is a 25% coupon for a unit that I had owned for less than a year before it started giving problems (either that or to wait indefinitely for a replacement). The unit was in perfect state, the only problem it has is the pump that broke for unknown reasons, I even shipped the original box, everything.Think about it, I paid nearly $1,000 for this unit, and it broke ~10 months after its purchase. I had three agents tell me that the warranty process would have a solution within 10 working days.1 month later the administrative department follows up offering me a 25% discount or to wait another 2 weeks (which, by the way, have already passed).I can’t recall of any company having a worse post-sale experience than this, it’s just awfu

Legitimacy of formaldehyde testing???

New here!I’m really intrigued by the Formaldehyde models of air purifiers...like all of them (humidify, heating, cooling). I’m looking into the standards and all the testing done to verify if it’s another industry stretching of the truth like common activated carbon filters - they don’t contain enough carbon to filter VOCs for more than a few days. When I search for the testing standard that Dyson states they used for their formaldehyde validation (GB/T 18801-2018) I get nothing that is mentioned outside of a Dyson related publication. I do find the full standards for GB/T 18801-2015 and GB/T 18801-2022 but there doesn’t appear to have ever been a GB/T 18801-2018 standard. Is it a typo? Is it a falsehood? I don’t know, I want to believe the best, but I also wouldn’t be surprised.

Unable to Manually Start Deep Clean

Hi everyone,I have a Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool Formaldehyde PH04 which has grown a large amount of mold/algae in the water tank.I would now like to deep clean the machine but, unfortunately, have been unable to determine how to manually initiate a deep clean cycle.To reiterate, the machine does not show that a deep clean cycle is needed but I would like to manually start one.Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!

unable to start deep clean kr rotation in my purifier

Hey all,as the title say,  I can’t upload a video but when I click the deep clean button nothing happens. Long press on it shows the below animation for 5 sec and then disable the deep clean option.also when click the rotation button I can a triangle with exclamation mark.i followed all the online guides but nothing helped. I contacted Dyson chat but they weren’t too helpful.please help me - it is a new device I received as a gift. thank you

courier collection fiasco

I have asked for a repair of my Dyson hot/cool tower and three times the collection courier DPD has not turned up. I have been asked by Dyson customer service to  reschedule for a FOURTH time. Is there a way to bring the machine to Peter Jones in London for example to get it repaired there? It’s out of warranty and I’m paying for the repair service. I have had to call customer service 10 times already. They are no use.

Dyson Keeps Lying About Sending Replacement

I shipped my humidifier back to Dyson and they received it on July 15. I still have the UPS label as proof. Dyson promised to send a replacement within 14 days. Well here we are in October and I continue to be lied to. “Please allow 48 working hours for process. Once the machine is released you will be notified via email as well.”Dyson never sends an email and no replacement has ever come. It’s clear to me this is Dyson’s business model. They are stealing from people who’ve spent their hard earned money and think this is a reputable company who will honor the warranty and send the replacement timely.The phone number and chat is a joke. I will never buy another Dyson product again because this company has proven to be just a bunch of thieves.

AM09 Hot and Cool not very hot

Is there anyone else with this fan heater? I am really not sure if I was delivered a faulty product or is this product is just not very hot and pretty much useless.If you are more than 2 feet away from the fan you basically get a draft from it, it does not heat the room up at all. I am confused as its brand new and out the box a few days ago. When I bought the Dyson I was expecting a good product but this is more like a barely warm and cool fan?So I wondering if anyone else has any experience with these heaters? I haven’t tried the cooling side of it as I bought it for the heater more than anything.So I honestly don’t know if its faulty or if these heaters are just not fit for purpose, as the hand dryers in my local gym are hotter than this.

Horrible Customer Service

To whom it may concern, I am writing to inform you of a recent customer service experience I had with Dyson. The precipitating event of this was one that every customer will experience: the need to replace a filter. The app directed me to a filter, and since I trusted the app I clicked through the purchase without thinking twice. Then the following events occurred: 1. The filter that the app directed me to purchase was not the same filter that was in my machine.2. I reached out to customer service when the filter did not install in the machine. They sent me a video demonstrating exactly what I was doing, and the service agent insisted that I simply try harder.3. To install the new filter, I had to remove the activated carbon filter already installed in my machine, to be replaced by what looked like simply a paper filter. I had paid for the top tier machine because air quality is extremely important to my family due to medical concerns.4. The customer service agent waved away my concern

Return policy for refurbs

Purchased a refurbed Dyson pure humidify and cool about 5 weeks ago.  Before purchasing I checked the return policy as listed on the Dyson home page which basically states that everything except ‘wearable devices such as Dyson Zone. Dyson Zone has a 14 day refund policy from the shipped delivery date’ are returnable.  NO mention of refurbished units so I assumed everything was good.  So, upon delivery of the unit I decided it was too large for where I wanted to use it and called Dyson and spoke to ‘Fatima’ to effect a return.  She advised that refurbished units are NOT returnable.  I explained the situation and she said she’d pass my request up to management.  Five weeks later and I’ve heard nothing so I called again today and spoke to ‘Harold’.  Once again, and after being on hold for 30 minutes, I’m told refurbs are NOT returnable.  Harolds ‘fix’ for my issue was to sell the unit to a family member or a friend!  I asked him to go to Dyson home page and look for the return policy (see

even after switching off the hot and cold heater fan stays on

I have had my Dyson heat and cold fan heater for a while now… but noticed that once I switch it off from the app… it still remains on?  only after it has been switched of from power it truly turns off. Which is weird!  if it stays on like that ALL the time, it is costing me a lot of electricity!  why is it staying ON ? Does any one know?

 I follow the directions perfectly. I put the filter into the water with the citric acid, press the button but all i get is this icon. It says 2, 3, 4, 5 and never starts the cleaning process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dyson humidifier PH04 not working - Customer service not ready to replace the machine

My machine has been having different types of issues (water level not going down, flashing water stuck tag on the machine among others). The machine is practically un-usable at this point. My machine is within warranty. I called customer service few times. It is extremely frustrating to be on the call with customer service for 2 hours. I live in New York City and the customer service does not have an “authority” to do anything with this type of machine. They are asking to take the machine to the service center as they can't use UPS to ship it back either. There is no close service center around New York City. No-one in NYC has a car or a way to take a machine 2 hours away. Can you let me know what to do with this un-usable machine? I’m really concerned about buying anything from Dyson and appalled at the customer service who practically have no resolution for a machine that is within warranty and expecting a customer to take it to the customer service, Anything soon will be appreciated

I have an airq (highend air quality measurement device) sitting next to the dyson fmdhyde purifier - and trying to understand the mapping - of dyson voc stages (green to read, 1 - 8) to pbb I am getting from the other measure device. The below seems to suggest that that 0-1 switch happens at ~500pbb

Hello, would you dyson have something like chart below to explain what range of ppb considered when scale the VOCs level from 1-10+ in Dyson purifier? More specifically, what range of ppb considered as Good in dyson, what range of ppl consider as Fair, what range of ppb considered as Poor?It would be very helpful in comparing data and accuracy. thank you

What specific substances is the voc sensor (purifier) calibrated to?

Is there a list of substances the VOC sensor reacts on (or is calibrated on)?The reason why I am asking is that the autoimmune disease of my wife got worse with moving to a new flat - and there is very likely some off-gasing happening (new furniture, wall colors, wooden floor covering, etc..). Whats interesting is that formaldehyde is super super low (0,005 never above 0.02) while VOC goes up to level 5 etc (especially at over 25° and 50% humidity)And we try hard to figure out what specifically is causing it .. (or not). It seems that formaldehyde is a laging indicator (and the formaldehyde sensor is really only calibrated to this rather than various aldehydes)

BP03 - Chemical smell

Hello, I have purchased a BP03 purifier 4 months ago and when using it I noticed an unusual smell coming out of the machine during operation. It’s somewhat plasticky / chemical but not something I have smelled in other home products. It’s definitely not pleasant and becomes present in the whole apartament if the machine runs for a longer time.I initially thought it was the plastic casing that needed to air out, but as the smell didn’t go away after a while, I had the device sent to the local service center (Bucharest, Romania) to be checked. They kept it for a while and raised this issue with Dyson, the official reply was that this is within parameters. They also told me that they compared it to another similar machine they had and that had the same smell. I’ve read online various reports of this occurring in similar machines or other purifiers that have the formaldehyde catalytic filter installed, so I am wondering if that is not the source. The smell is not coming from the particle/c
