Does the 360 Vis Nav ONLY use the map? Or does the camera and sensors override the map?

I am curious about mapping.  Since the software doesn’t seem to like angled walls, does the robot map the house and use it “as a suggestion,” allowing the cameras and sensors to “override” the map if it determines that it can actually follow the edge of a diagonal cabinet or wall?  When I look at my map, there are very large zig-zags representing these diagonal walls and cabinets.  But when it shows the cleaning map, it overlaps—but not exactly—the original map from mapping.  Just curious if this thing is smart enough with sensors and cameras to determine where things actually are in the room.

The Tazmanian Dyson..

Let me start by saying, hello and good evening, my names Craig.. I’ve recently upgraded all my Dyson products and the star of the show is by far, “TheRobot”, only one thing I could say, if I was being overly critical, is it loves doing 360’s, Lol, hence the title and me Robots name.. I think it’s the Crystal and glass furniture, might be messing with the camera’s, as it only does it near that furniture, maybe the mirrored reflection of itself?? Gets the Robot all excited haha, because after its pirouettes and best impression of a Tazmanian Devill, it then feels the need to drive into the glass coffee table, so yeah, that’s the hypothesis that lead to the conclusion, but, still, without any doubt, an absolutely top tier product, maybe a few wrinkles could be ironed out with further software updates??

New battery for the Dyson Vis Nav

I just got my Dyson 360 Vis Nav, I would like to get an extra Dyson battery. I did not see any on the Dyson website and I am wondering if they are even available. Also does anyone have any idea of how to change out the old battery for a new one for the vis nav? I am asking about this as my old robot vacuum was the 360 Eye and when it came time to change the battery I couldn’t find a Dyson battery for it. So I had to use a Chinese knock off battery that kill my 360 eye! I see others here in the community have had the same experience. Thanking you in advance, Rob

purifier formaldehyde PH04 second repair

Hi,We got this fantastic air purifier with humidifier PH04 and unfortunately to our frustration it’s second time in repair. First was loud sound coming from air purifier motor and now humidifier water pump made loud noise. Service here in Estonia for Dyson is very poor and I have to wait around month to get machine back. I suffer with allergies and it’s vital for me to clean room clean and humidity levels high. Very disappointing as Dyson customer who has been loyal to you nearly 10 years.

Dyson 360 eye app

Hello, I'm new here and have a question or problem with my dyson 360 eye, which is a bit older and also has an app. Because it was sitting around for a bit longer and got a new battery, I had to integrate it into the app again and that's exactly why it fails connects to the robot's WiFi, the app then recognizes it and when I'm almost at the end, the app crashes or I have to re-enter the WiFi password from the robot and network. Does anyone have any tips or can help me? That would be super nice, Mfg. Malte

new Nav 360 VisNav will not charge, resetting to factory setting is failure

Received new 360 VisNav from Dyson late Friday afternoon, 26Apr. Set it up on Saturday. Everything worked except it would not “pair” with its charger. Repeatedly followed instructions to remove from dock, wait 30 seconds, and return to dock with no success. Weekend help bots at support were of no help. Decided to reset the machine to factory settings based on advice from Mark Finn in another closed discussion on the topic. That reduced the menu to a difficult to read QR code for the myDyson app and when my phone would not connect to the machine, it produced another difficult to read QR code that took me to a no longer active page at Dyson’s website. The only other menu option was to power down, which I did. Monday I called support and after waiting for over 50 minutes to chat with an agent I received no more help than I did from the help bots during the weekend, it just took longer. Now I have a case number and instructions to wait to be contacted in 3 to 5 days. Question 1. How can I

Mapping issues on the 360 Vis Nav

I’ve had a Roomba in the past and hated it, so I was excited to finally get a Dyson, having bought my first Dyson vacuum in 2006. I expected the mapping on the Dyson to be top notch.  Last night, I mapped our home, and this morning I tried creating a map. Our home has angles, so not everything is on a 90-degree layout.  There is no way for me to put a separation at a 45-degree angle. Rotating the separation is only at 90-degree angles. With the Roomba, we could isolate our kitchen for a daily cleaning, but there is no way to do this without adding 45-degree separators.  This also means that our cleaning routine over FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to clean the living room and kitchen together?  Dyson, will you be adding the ability to create 45-degree angles in the software? If not, this vacuum is completely useless in our home.  Here’s the Roomba map with angled zone dividers:

Any one has issues with dyson airstraight?! I used it for obe time and after 1 week trying to use it it wouldn’t turn on again! I tried resetting it and different plug didn’t work! It’s really frustrating to use it for 1 day only and never worked again! Am scared to replace it and will return it, i have all hair car machines from Dyson never had issues, but this one was the worst! I really like it how it straightened my hair i saw alot of bad reviews on it but i continue to buy it , but not anymore!

DO NOT BUY - Dyson Corrale straightener (Suddenly stopped working and support offered no solution)

"Hello everyone,I'm extremely disappointed with Dyson. I purchased their hair straightener in 2021, and it suddenly stopped working last week, displaying the "too hot" icon. Despite being a high-end product, it only lasted three years with minimal usage.To make matters worse, the two-year warranty has expired, and Dyson support refused to repair or offer any solution. Instead, they suggested I buy a new straightener for $500. I'm shocked that no one can even assess the issue or provide repair options.As a customer who has also invested in a Dyson vacuum and Airwrap, I expect better service and product reliability from a company that charges premium prices. I'm worried that my other Dyson products may also fail unexpectedly."Sharing my experience so other people don’t regret their purchases…..

I will NEVER purchase anything from Dyson again, nor will I recommend Dyson!

I am absolutely appalled by Dyson's customer service! Since purchasing an Airwrap on 3/1/24, I have encountered complete silence since initiating a return on 4/1/24. I have spent endless hours waiting on the phone, sending ignored emails, and even reaching out to them on Instagram, all leading to a dead end. Even after resubmitting the return request on 4/20/24, I was promised a response within 48 hours, but to no avail. Finally, after a 45-minute wait for a chat, Vamshi K abruptly told me that I'm out of my return window without any attempt at a solution. It's ridiculous that I'm being held responsible for being out of my return window when Dyson didn't respond to my first return request. To make matters worse, Vamshi K left the chat without even saying goodbye or coming up with a solution while I was still trying to send proof of my initial return request. Dyson has lost my trust and my business forever.

Dyson 360 Vis Nav - constant Drop sensors obscured alert

Hello! I keep getting this error message about the drop sensors being obscured alert, and I keep cleaning the sensors are the diagram shows, top, bottom, sides….and then sometimes it happens again after 1 minutes, and sometimes it happens upto 4 times.How can I avoid this? Am I cleaning it incorrectly? I’m using dry paper towel or dry glass lens cleaner cloth to clean the sensor areas. So, im not sure what else to do.I’m noticing that it seems to do this more often when it goes over a HVAC register (on the floor register, like this https://www.lowes.com/c/Registers-grilles-Heating-cooling), or just after perhaps the sensors are confused and not dirty? thanks

Hair Dryer Failure

Expensive hair dryer stopped working two months out of warranty.  Called customer service who kept me on the phone for 40 minutes and then told me to go to a local Dyson service center. They told me they’ve never seen a problem like mine and they think the power cord needs to be replaced and they don’t have the capability to do it. They said they might be able to later in the year and in the meantime offered me $150 “toward“ a refurbished machine. I found refurbished machines on the Dyson site for $350. So after spending $400 on a hairdryer, I now have to spend another 200 to get a used machine if I still want this dryer . Definitely the classic case of pouring good money after bad. I will go spend that money on another brand first. Very disappointed. Dyson should just send me a refurbished dryer in exchange for mine since they will ultimately fix it and resell it for near the original cost.  By the way, why do they have so many refurbished hairdryers? Because the product is deficient!

How to get 360 Vis Nav to vacuum toe kicks under cabinets?

I am having a problem getting the 360 Vis Nav to actually vacuum the “toe kick” under kitchen cabinets.  It is completely ignoring them.Could re-mapping help?  Can I only re-map the kitchen area and not the whole house?  The Roomba had a little “whisker” that would extend out and sweep these crumbs completely.

Increase Vis Nav Dockingprocess with using the LED Ring

I got a really god idea for the docking in issues! That would change a lot!That idea was also sent to UK after I discussed the solution with my Vis Nav Professional. I hope it will find a way into the VisNav Settings. The IdeaCreate a toggle to switch on the LED Ring when the Vis Nav is on its way to the docking station and in the docking process. Make sure that the setting is NOT in linked to the brightness of the room- just turning on the LED lights. Here is why and how I found it as a solution.My Vis Nav and also my old 360 Heurist got always issues with docking in, no matter if it was day or night, sunny, cloudy or with lightbulbs. I got an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I switched on the flashlight and positioned it behind the Robot while it was docking in, but got issues to find the dockingstation. The reason was, I hoped that by improving the light conditions the robot will lern how to dock in better in the future…. BUT I found out that EVERYTIME I placed the iPhone-Flashlight behind the Ro

Hello,since your robot has a class 1 laser categorization that for whatever reason no reviewer is aware of i want to know if all the additional sensors are laser class.From what i can tell and the looks they all are but i want to be sure that your long range wall tracking sensor is actually a 1D LDS.Thank you

hi all,I got the robot recently and let it map my 90 square feet flat. The map looks ok but I am having a problem getting the robot to clean 2 specific rooms (bed room and kitchen)  when I tell the robot to clean all, all rooms will be cleaned.When I ask the robot to clean the living room or the bedroom only it refuses. The robot basically undock, move few cms and then return back to the dock saying it couldn’t find the rooms. i deleted the map and created a new one. now the robot can clean the living room on it is own but still refuses to enter and clean my bedroom.  if I remove the bed room divider and include the floor with the bed room it also works but this is stupid.  any ideas ? With my precious robots (Roomba and roborock) I didn’t face such issues :(.

Scheduling - power levels per room

When setting on-demand room cleans, you can set the desired power level per room.  When scheduling cleans, the power levels are not available to be set for each schedule, and default to whatever was last set on the on-demand clean for each room.  Is there a way to define a schedule for a day/time, and selection of rooms, where you can set a specific power level? It would be great to be able to set a clean on quiet at an early hour, only for specific rooms. Then have the power level on auto when it’s not early morning, and on a different day.In the scheduling configuration, I can choose a level for the entire home, or individual rooms, but not rooms and power level per room. In the on-demand window (Select zones to start cleaning), I can select desired rooms and their required power level. The power level values chosen here persist for each room in all schedules, until changed. The only way I can get this to happen, is to remember to update the power levels between schedules…which provi

Have a new vis and have multiple floors & a sunk living room. How best to think about getting more than one dock versus moving robot & dock?  Any pros/cons beyond the obvious? Also how does the unit know where it is? Just based on what area / map you tell/schedulel it to vacuum?

TRIANGLE ADAPTOR for low reach floor tool, DC17

My old DC17 is still chugging along, full steam.  One of the best purchases ever, probably 15 yrs ago or longer.The cracked ‘triangle’ adaptor for the low-reach floor tool, however, finally gave up the ghost after years of survival, thanks to a zealous GorillaTape job.  I ordered a replacement from a source called vacuumdirect.com… DO NOT USE these people.  Vacdirect.com is one of those companies that will ship out anything, regardless of whether or not it’s correct.  The’re the parts equivalent of having a ‘warm body’ on the end of a support line who has zero knowledge and a bad attitude, lol. Adaptor trianglePart no. 907036-03 What I did find was a source for this adaptor on Fleabay.  It hasn’t arrived yet, but I will update when it comes. Dyson’s ‘contact us’ page has only social media links, no email.  But they do have a phone, CST zone.  I haven’t called… they’re just gonna say they don’t make it anymore.If you’re gonna build a product of this high quality, that seems to last ‘for

How to delete false detected rooms from the map

Hi there,I am a really confident dyson 360 vis nav user, but something bothers me. Sometimes the robot detects new rooms which arent there. Unfortunately those rooms are permanently added to the map right away. Is there a way to delete those without re-mapping the whole house over again?As you can see in the screenshot it has discovered a “new room” next to the utility room which does not exist. It also has added some weird shapes to the living room on top. How to delete these? Those lead the robot to a inefficient navigation. Thanks!

My Dyson 360 Vis Nav is not working. The logo on the display is lit and nothing else.

Our latest software release for the Dyson 360 Vis Nav™ robot vacuum (RB03PR.01.08.001.3325). The robot was unable to update via the app to version RB03PR.01.08.002.4054. The connection with the application has been severed and we cannot connect again. For the second day, the robot's logo display is on and a slight noise is heard. Nothing else can be done. Clicking on the display with the logo does not happen. What to do?
