Humidifier - Humidity Issue

Hi Stuart,I read of this on Reddit after opening my new PH04 a few hours ago. At first run, over maybe two hours, humidity climbed from 26% to 28%, and when it dropped back to 27% and stayed, I did a deep clean. I had also already rinsed the pump base cap — and confirmed that the evaporator was wet after that first run. In the hour since the deep clean, using the same settings — humidity target 70%, air flow 10, purify off — I’ve watched humidity slowly climb from 25% to 30%. It’s been some time now since that last jump between 29% and 30%.I hope you won’t mind if I jump in with a few quick questions:The pump base cap — how do you recommend cleaning it, and both its inner (hidden) side and its external side? Is this the only part of the pump base that should be cleaned? to paraphrase a piece of advice from Reddit: if, after a run, the evaporator is wet, the unit is not defective; in fact, it’s trying the hardest it can. True? I’m running this in the middle of a very small living room

Using Dyson's UK appliances in the US

Hi there, I will be shortly moving to the US from the UK and have a series of Dyson appliances which I would like to continue using. Most importantly I have a Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ Black/Nickel that was purchased in the UK which is barely 2 years old. Can i use this in the US using a step up transformer? Or is there an exchange program at Dyson US which will enable me exchange the UK model with the equivalent US model? (Moderation Edit - Tags Added)

Sudden Chemical Odour?

Been using the hot & cool formaldehyde for months, daily with no issues but out of nowhere it started emitting a chemical like odour. Similar to the smell of permanent marker ink. I didn't pick up where it was coming from for a day or so but determined its definitely from the machine after having it off for a period. My filter is still at least 90% but has it taken in something unusual and been compromised? I don't use chemicals around the machine, the only thing I can think of is maybe some spray hand sanitiser being used in an adjacent room which causes the VOC to rise as I walk past. It doesn't smell spoiled or rancid in any way, but is headache inducing. I've stopped using immediately on realising the issue. (Edited by moderator – Tags added and moved to ‘Air quality’ forum)

Dyson AirPurifier always yellow - Any ideas?

Hi there! I have recently purchased a Dyson AirPurifier formaldehyde. When I first got it, the display was never anything more than the green rating, apart from when I cook. Now for the last few days, I haven’t really seen it in the green rating, it’s now in the yellow… When I now have it on auto, the fan is going at a fast speed. I’m a bit confused as to why my air quality is now worse than before when I’m doing nothing different. (Moderation Edit - Tags Added)

Purifier Heater - How to turn on heater without remote

Hello, I have an HP04 2nd generation hot & cool air purifier and can't find my remote. Anyone know how I can turn on the heater manually? It's disabled in my phone app bc I'm in the U.S. It's really cold here and our building's heater is out. :((Edited by moderator – tags amended)

Change Fan Speed on Heat Setting on Dyson Hot & Cool

Although I can change the fan speed on the Cool setting of my Purifier Hot & Cool, I can’t change it when it’s on the Heat setting - it just blasts out, even if I move the fan speed to 1.Is this normal!?(Edited by moderator – tags added)

VOC readings

Hi I have an issue with the VOC levels that are reported as a number from 1 to 9+ scale. What amount of VOC in ppm is present actually for each level in this scale ? This is important to me as an end user to know the absolute numbers that I am comfortable. Dyson categorically say that 0- 3 is good, 4-6 is fair and so on but it is a relative scale based on what amounts of VOC present actually, I don’t know ? This is unlike the formaldehyde levels which are given in ppm units. Appreciate if someone with the knowledge could enlighten us here. Thank you.

Tank Undetected - Humidifier

I just put a new filter in my Dyson Purifier Humidifier and it was working fine for about 20 minutes, now I have a message tank undetected. The water tank is full and it is inserted properly but I can’t get it to work. This seems to be an ongoing problem and I have already had 1 machine replaced for this reason. Purifier - NO2 sensor and humidity

HelloReally happy with our purifier but have found that on auto when opening the nearby outside door the NO2 will always spike to very high for a short period before settling down to normal. This happens consistently and I have read elsewhere that this could be due to the sensor being confused by the significant difference in humidity when the outside air comes in, before stabilising.I do not think there are big sources of NO2 in our garden and it always settles down after some time. Does anyone else have this? If my theory is correct could Dyson correct the software to smooth this kind of spike out as it is annoying when it suddenly goes on full blast! any thoughts welcome :-)

No Serial Number or password sticker on one of our Dayson Cool/Heat Fans, how can I get the password?

How can I find out the PASSWORD to one of our Dyson Hot+Cool Fans? It never had a sticker on it, came shipped to us without one. I see that the TAGS have “password reset”, can someone tell me where to find out how to either get my password or how to reset my password (without knowing the prior one). I have been looking all through the Dyson site and some of the community site for the information, so far no luck finding it.We have three Dyson Pure Hot+Cool HP01 Purifying Heater+Fans. Two came with stickers which have the Serial Number and password printed on them, one has it on the side under the filter, and the other has it on the very bottom of the base. Our third one, has NO sticker on it at all. Back when we got them over a year ago now, the box for each one had stickers and I was able to register all three, and program all three into the cell phone app. Bad part, the box got thrown away by another family member, so I no longer have the password for the one without a sticker.

Wifi not connecting on my Hot+Cool Purifier?

it a 3 months old unit and was connected with wifi and can be controlled on the dyson app before until a week ago we use the cool fan it over night with the timer on. The next day we cannot find it on the app and the wifi is animating, i keep on trying to connect to the wifi as per troubleshoot instructions, it say “Connection Issue we’re having problems connecting your machine to the Wi-Fi network”

how to change cool air to warm on auto mode

Hi, I have the DYSON PURIFIER HOT+COOL FORMALDEHYD model and I have it on auto all day and night. My problem is it continuously blows cool air and can get very draughty during the day and the room gets cold in the night. So recently I’ve turned it off at night time but surely this shouldn’t be the case. Is there a way I can adjust the temperature so it’s warm at night and preferably during the day. Using a Purifier with Essential Oils

I have an ultrasonic essential oil diffuser in the same room ( which is same idea as humidifier / with essential oils added to water) after a minute - the purifier starts flashing all possible alarms about pollutants. Fan goes to 10 if in Auto mode.. Apparently these two devices are not intended to work In Tandem? Hopefully it does not mean that the dispersed essential oils in the air are bad for you?!. Big difference between HP04 and HP07/09 Sensors

The sensors between the older HP04 and newer 07/09 seem very different in terms of sensitivity and what is detected. I’ve noticed that the 07/09 is extremely sensitive to VOC and takes a long time to come back down whilst not registering NO2 at all. Where as on the 04 as soon as I open the door NO2 spikes (living near a main road I’d expect it to) but VOC doesn’t spike or remain for long when using perfume etc.. See screen shots as an example of NO2, 04 and 07 in the same room. Anyone else seeing this? (Edited by moderator – Tags added)

Humidifier stopped working - HELP!

The humidifier stopped working in the last 2 weeks. I usually have to fill the tank weekly, but the water hasn’t gone down in the last week AND the humidity level is around 20% - and I have the machine set at 30%. I tried raising the machine level to the highest humidity setting but after 24 hrs the room is still at 20%. Please Help!(Edited by moderator – tags added)
