Getting the correct support for your Dyson machine starts with understanding which product you own. Dyson currently has four distinct generations that make up this category.

Cordless - Generation 1

All DC16, DC30, DC31, DC34, DC35, DC43H, DC44, DC45 and DC56 products are members of our Cordless - Generation 1 machines. These are identified by the unique handle design, which detaches from the main body to reveal the filter.

This generation is made up of a mixture of Handheld and Stick vacuums.

Cordless - Generation 2

All DC 58, DC59, V6, V7 and V8 products are members of our Cordless - Generation 2 machines. These are identified by the coned shaped filter, which is stored and removed from the top of the machine’s cyclone. Later version of this generation also had a HEPA filter at the rear of the machine.

This generation is made up of a mixture of Handheld and Stick vacuums.

Cordless - Generation 3

All V10, V11, Dyson Micro, Dyson Outsize and Omni-glide products are members of our Cordless - Generation 3 machines. These are identified by the twist fitted filter at the back of the product and the introduction of a new bin design.

These models introduced an improved array of cleaning modes, with Auto, Eco and Boost.

Cordless - Generation 4

The V12 and V15 products are members of our Cordless - Generation 4 machines. These machines are identified by their updated bin design, twist fitted filter and the digital display screen at the rear of the machine.

These models introduced an improved array of cleaning modes, with Auto, Eco and Boost appearing as on-screen options.

Any machines developed past the V15 and Gen5, that have the same design, will fall into this generation.
