How do I start a self-cleaning cycle with my Dyson WashG1 wet cleaner? | Dyson Community

It took me a while to work out why the self-cleaning cycle menu would not come up? Apparently it will only start when the power supply to the dock is switched on ….

Hi @GMorrison4,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

The Dyson WashG1™️ wet cleaner is designed to automatically flush out any residue or buildup from the system while the machine is docked and charging. Essentially, when you place the machine on its dock and ensure the power supply is on, it cleans itself as part of its maintenance routine, ensuring optimal performance and hygiene for future use.

Ordinarily you should be able to initiate your Dyson WashG1™️ wet cleaner’s self-clean cycle following the steps in our video guide:

If it doesn’t seem to be working for you, are you able to provide any other details about what’s happening when you try to start self-cleaning - are there any errors or alerts shown on the LCD display, for example?

If the issue still persist visit Dyson.com and click Support to if you’d like to continue your conversation with Dyson Customer Care in your region.

Hope it helps!

Understood. But that wasn’t clear from the video. I naturally assumed that if the battery was well charged connection to the mains would not be required.

i think I’m ok now
