Hey I bought a Dyson Airwrap in Australia whilst travelling and then moved to the United States where I plugged the device into the wall outlet and it stopped working. I took it to a service centre in Georgia and the service person literally said to throw it away and buy a new one because they can’t touch it, even though we asked if we can pay for them to take a look at it. Their reason is that Dyson does not support international warranties. This is absolutely ridiculous and disappointing from a company that we thought made high quality products. Can someone either suggest what best to do or a good alternative from a more supportive manufacturer?
Hi
Welcome to the Dyson Community!
The Dyson Airwrap multi-styler has been engineered for use with the voltage of the country it was sold in. When used outside of these parameters your machine may not work as intended, and there is a risk that permanent damage could be caused.
You can find out more here:
Your free 2-year Dyson guarantee is valid in the country of purchase, and covers failures due to manufacturing faults - this wouldn’t cover relocating to another country, or using the machine on a voltage it wasn’t engineered to work with.
I’m sorry if this wasn’t the news you were hoping for, but it sounds like you have been correctly advised by our Customer Care team. However I will follow up with you directly to see if we have any further options available.
