has anyone been able to get a replacement battery shipped to Hawaii?

I am a very happy user of a Dyson v7. I recently moved to Hawaii (the Big Island) and the battery in my v7 died. In the past, I’ve been able to get replacement batteries online, but this time after waiting over a week I got an email that said “for reasons beyond our control” my order had been cancelled.

I did an online chat with customer service, who placed the order again for me. The agent said it was a payment problem, but that’s unlikely. I used a totally different credit card for the new order (it has about $50,000 of available credit). Again, the order was automatically cancelled.

The agent said I should just pick up a new battery at a Dyson store, but the nearest store is 2,500 miles away. Then they said I’d just have to use a different address -- but that makes no sense. I regularly receive packages shipped by UPS, Fedex, and USPS. I don’t *have* another address. My neighbors’ addresses all look exactly like mine (but with different numbers) so it seems unlikely that would make a difference.

I like this vacuum enough that I’d just buy a new one if that was my only option, but I’m not going to buy one if I’m just going to get stuck with a deceased battery that I can’t replace.

Has anyone succeeded in getting a battery replacement in Hawaii? I can’t think of any other reason why they can’t ship it to me and the agent couldn’t give me any more information.

Buy a replacement battery on Amazon… they’re a fraction of the cost and more powerful than Dyson batteries. Most even come with the necessary hardware/screwdriver you need to complete the swap.

I’ve still got a v8 that’s going strong with a new battery and dustbin I picked up on Amazon, and I replaced the battery on a v10 of mine too.

I manage Airbnb’s and would outfit them with Dyson’s because I was once a happy customer.

But after getting the runaround from their parts department and customer service I’ll no longer purchase from Dyson ever again.

Good advice generally; I’ve purchased replacement batteries from Amazon when I lived on the mainland. Alas, none of the sellers on Amazon seem to ship replacement batteries to Hawai’i. :(
