Iconically horrible service | Dyson Community

I’ve been a Dyson customer for over 10 yrs (bought cordless vacuums and an air wrap) and have not had to contact customer service in that period of time.  I rave to anyone about my cordless vacuums to friends and family.  This past summer, I splurged and upgraded to a Gen 5 Absolute vacuum on Aug 28..  For about a month, it was working like a dream.  I couldn’t believe how much invisible dirt was sucked up.  Although, the vacuum is heavy and my fingers would start to tingle after using it continuously for 30 min, I was still happy with my purchase.

Soon after using it for just over a month, the fluffy optic head started to malfunction.  The lights flickered and it wasn’t as bright anymore.  Contacted customer service and the spare part was not in stock.  So I was offered a “brand new” machine if I sent the one I had bought at a demo store back to them.  I was sent the “brand new” machine with different color attachments.  Mine was prussian blue/copper and they sent me purple attachments.  I contacted them again and said this was unacceptable.  For a machine that was over 1K, I would want the attachments that I originally got at the store.  Going back and forth with customer service, they agreed to give me a refund so that I can purchase a new one at the store.

I sent them back the vacuum with the different color attachments and Dyson has received it on Nov. 20.   I received an email from Dyson on Nov. 22 saying that they are processing my refund and it will take 7 days.  After 7 days, I contacted customer service, and they told me the time frame for a refund is now 10 business days.  Contacted them again, and the new time frame is now 14 business days.  Their spiel is we are escalating your refund,  you should receive it after 24-48 hrs.  It is now Dec. 14 and still no refund.  I’ve given up hope in getting my money back through Dyson.  Will have to contact my bank to dispute the charge.  I’ve wasted so much time and energy contacting their customer service.  Each phone call lasts on average 45 min to 1 hr.   Was anyone successful in getting their refunds?
