Ontrac ANC for calls

Hello - I see there are multiple requests for Dyson to allow ANC during phone calls. All of the threads are marked as “resolved,” but this is absolutely not resolved. Saying, “we’ve made an active choice not to allow this feature you’ve let us know is critical for you as a customer” is not a resolution.

I just received these headphones yesterday and thought they were defective when I was on a call. In today’s work environment where most of us are looking for headphones to cancel out the overwhelming noise of coworkers in the office, noise cancelling on calls is table stakes for premium headphones. I’m a workplace strategist at a large architecture and design firm, which means I design workplace setups and strategies for corporations. These headphones will get a red x (warning against them as part of a workplace setup) unless this feature gets updated.

luckily for you, you can return them for a full refund and find the model that suits your needs.

Dyson, just like many companies, will not comment on future updates, so once they offer their reply, as far as they are concerned, the question is “resolved”. You have your answer. It may not be what you want to hear, but it resolved or “answered” your query. You questioning this is not going to make them hurry up and implement a feature just for you.

If you have a workplace reason why adding ANC during calls would benefit your company, reaching out to Dyson through proper channels (their PR department, through email for example) is the best way to do it, rather than threatening them that you will give them an “X” in your work place environment on an anonymous web forum. Kind of a childish way to request a feature and a poor way to represent your “large architecture and design firm”.  What makes you think a threat will get their attention?

Since you are employed by a “large architecture design firm”, why dont you all design your own headphones and get bids from OEM manufautrers who can build what you want?

Once a Dyson rep responds with “we will forward to our engineers and thanks for your input”, guess what will happen to this topic -- it will be “resolved”.

I can’t figure out if you’re trying to be my father or a common internet troll. I’d guess troll since it seems you spend your days telling other people what’s wrong with their posts.

The internet would be a far better place if people like you kept to themselves.

I'm a person who has an opinion on how immature your post is about a first world problem. Threatening any company online AND telling them to fix it because YOUR needs are important is absurd. Rather than use proper channels, you decide to post up on an anonymous forum. You can also simply return the headphones and find another product that meets your needs. Instead, you want to troll with your original post.

Hi @Benderdc,

Customer feedback is always very useful to us when considering and developing new features for our products.

We’re not able to promise what the future may hold and we can’t put any timeline or guarantee behind the introduction of an option like you’ve suggested. But I can reassure you that your comments about ANC during voice calls - and similar feedback we’ve received from other Dyson OnTrac™ and Zone™ headphone owners - have been collated and shared with the relevant internal teams.
