Is the Airstrait safe for pregnant women? | Dyson Community

Hello, I just got my new Airstrait and used it for the first time and while I was using it (for 10 minutes) I noticed that the air-purifier in the next room was going off the charts (turned red for bad air quality) I opened the windows and turned the Airstrait off and the air quality started to get back to normal levels. I read online and found that many people have the same issue with their Airstrait. I started to freak out however when I read somewhere that this happens because the Airstrait releases Ozone!! I’m currently pregnant and freaking out if I should not have used this product while pregnant?! Is it safe for pregnant women?

P.S. I didn’t apply anything to my hair before using the Airstrait. I had only washed my hair with 100% natural hair wash.

Hi @Meerpastel,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

We can confirm the Dyson Airstrait™️ straightener does not produce ozone, and there are no concerns around pregnant women using this machine.

As you dry your hair, water vapour will be dispersed by the machine's powerful airflow. Your purifier may temporarily detect the airborne vapour as a reduction in air quality, but this should soon return to normal.

Hope this answers your question!
