It shouidn’t be this hard to purchase a ridiculously expensive hair dryer

I have now spent more than an entire day trying to by a supersonic professional dryer. 

I first contacted customer support who would not give me the discount without providing a license. I live in Quebec where there is no licensing system. I spent hours on the phone to ministries in Ontario and was able to obtain the license number I was given there when I passed my exam in Toronto over 20 years ago. Dyson Customer service would not accept it! Its expired. Of course it is. I do not renew it because I do not need it here! I’ve been in Quebec since 2006. 

Eventually they offered to allow me to purchase it at full price. I wanted to buy it through the website so I could pay in installments but they said it wasn’t possible so I agreed to pay full price over the phone. I was sent multiple payment requests which were accepted but then almost immediately canceled by Dyson. I have no idea why. 

Finally I called the demo store in Toronto at Yorkdale. The employee there gave me the discount but my credit card was declined!  I was embarrassed. My credit card now has multiple pre-authorizations for dryers despite the purchases being canceled by you. I was so frustrated and in need of a dryer that I used my partner’s credit card. My old blow dryer is dead and I desperately need my new dryer, but it’s been 48hrs and there has been no update with tracking information. 

I’m really disappointed that I finally made the choice to purchase such an expensive piece of equipment and the experience has been so stressful. Now one of my credit cards is full and I may incur penalties if any preauthorized payments end up being declined. I will have to pay my partner back in cash at the same time as I have to pay both rent at home and at my studio which is going to be difficult.

I feel like Quebec hairstylists are not considered important to your company. 

Am I actually going to receive my dryer, and when can I expect it? I need it as fast as possible so I don’t have to buy an additional dryer as well. 

When will the pre-authorizations on my card be canceled? Why were they placed first and THEN canceled? 

I’m really not hard to please, but I this whole process has felt very complicated, unprofessional and full of problems.
