Hi all

Has anyone else had trouble with sending items back via DPD?

I called customer service on 14th September as my three month old Dyson Corrale straighteners were coming up with an overheating error.  

CS said they would arrange for collection and repair but the earliest DPD could collect would be 27th September.  I asked if there was anything I should do (i.e. pop them in the original box etc) they stated “no just hand them to the driver”.

DPD didn’t arrive on 27th September (they kept me informed) and eventually a driver arrived on Sunday 29th.  When I answered the door he just said DPD so I gave him my straighteners which were in their box and he went to his van with them, coming back with a receipt. I thought that was that but then he handed me a huge box (I could probably fit in!).  I asked what it was but unfortunately English was not his first language and he just shrugged.  I took the box in, opened it up and inside found a returns label for Dyson! By this time the driver had gone so I tried to phone DPD to get him to come back. In fairness they said they had done their job and delivered successfully and my straighteners would be held at the depot until Dyson claimed them.  I cannot go and get them from their depot!

I then called CS at Dyson and unfortunately, the person I spoke to just did not understand what I was saying and said that she would contact the service department for them to call me.  Today is Wednesday and I have heard nothing.  I am worried my very expensive straighteners are just going to be sat in a depot and nothing is going to happen.  I have again phone CS today asking for the complaints department as apparently I cannot speak to their repair team directly. They have said complaints will “email me”… no timeframe.

Has anyone else had this problem?  What was the resolution?  I really don’t know who to turn to next but am now going to try DPD again :(
