I purchased the Dyson V10 Animal stick vacuum cleaner a little over 2 years ago for around $500. This is a cordless vacuum that only had about 20 minutes of battery life, so completely useless. I broke it down into the handheld version to use as a “dust buster” - pretty expensive dust buster. Now the battery completely died and won’t recharge and in order to get my overpriced cordless hand vac working again it will cost me an additional $130. [Moderation edit - inappropriate language removed] Needless to say I won’t be purchasing any more Dyson products ever. Buyer beware.

Hi
Welcome to the Dyson Community - we're sorry to hear you feel this way about your Dyson Cyclone V10™ vacuum.
As with any battery, our battery packs are subject to normal degradation over their working life. It's not possible for us to specify an exact lifespan for any component, including the battery pack, as this depends on how each individual machine is used, maintained and stored.
Outside of our free 2-year warranty period, replacement parts or repairs would be chargeable.
There’s nothing we can do via the Dyson Community to change the outcome here, but if you change your mind about the replacement you’re welcome to continue your conversation directly with the Dyson Customer Care team. You can reach them by visiting Dyson.com and clicking Support.
