Floor tool clogging up

The motorhead floor tool in my v7 cordless stick vacuum clogs up very quickly (as soon as a little dog hair is vacuumed up) and the vacuum stops until I manually clear it and then it happens again. What can I do?

Hi @Riika,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

It wouldn’t be normal for your Dyson V7™ vacuum’s motorised cleaner head to clog repeatedly in normal use. This machine has more than enough power to remove pet hair, dust and debris across hard and carpeted floors.

Your description suggests there’s an underlying issue - which could be a hidden obstruction in the floor tool, wand, or bin inlet. The filter may also be overdue for a wash. Please also check the bin inlet flap can open and close freely, and is not jammed closed. Our troubleshooting guide should help you check for this -

This should resolve things but if you need further help after trying this, please visit Dyson.com and click Support to get in touch with the right Dyson Customer Care team for your region.
