My V8 carpet attachment is "eating" out new carpet

Our V8 carpet brush roller is literally “eating” our new carpet. - every week!  I just contacted customer service who confirmed that the is no height adjustment on the carpet brush roller (or any other).  Any suggestions/alternatives would be greatly appreciated. (Our carpet installer recommended vacuuming EVERY week to prolong the carpet life BUT this is not going to be feasible long-term.

Hi, we had a similar problem. Our new carpet has very dense fibres which don’t allow the air to pass freely, hence the head gets pulled down hard into the carpet and with ours it left horrifying “claw” marks.

Dyson were unable to help, in the end we took a piece of carpet to Curry’s and tested machines, we ended up purchasing a Shark which had an adjustment to reduce suction on this type of carpet. It is a great machine so now we have that downstairs and the older Dyson upstairs……at least it saves a lot of lifting.
