Small round plastic red clip on motorhead

I have gone around in circles, with Dyson essentially saying that they cannot replace this part (that costs about 1c to make), and that a whole new motorhead is needed (!). The small round red plastic clip that helps the motorhead rotate (one on either side of the motorhead) has broken off. The little pop out plastic bit that ‘hooks’ into the connection broke - rendering the whole vacuum cleaner a white elephant. Yes, I am incredibly frustrated and cannot work out what to call this part to try and see if I can find something online that I can use - so anyone that can help out, that would be wonderful!

Hi @chrissybw,

Thanks so much for sharing these pictures, this is very helpful.

I can see from these images that this is not a genuine Dyson cleaner head, and has not been manufactured by Dyson. It’s not a cleaner head which would have been supplied with any Dyson vacuum.

As such, we wouldn’t have spare parts for it, or be in a position to offer recommendations on repair.

For support, we would recommend reaching out to the third party manufacturer of this cleaner head as they’re best placed to offer help with their product.

Hi @chrissybw,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

It sounds like the part you’re looking for is the End cap.

Please can you let us know exactly which Dyson machine you own? If you can post clear pictures of your machine and its cleaner head, that would be very useful!

Thank you for replying. I have attached some pics of the area of the vacuum cleaner I’m referring to, and a pic of the part I’m looking for. I don’t know the model as it’s rubbed off, sorry.

Ah, thanks for that. I had borrowed it from a cleaner, and they said it was from their Dyson. My apologies, Dyson support had the pics and didn’t pick that up (!). I will try and find something still as I think it was damaged when I borrowed it, but now I feel responsible to sort it out.
