V15 Detect Digital Motorbar red slider

I read the answer to a previous question on this topic by @David-70 which said it was for changing the suction for various surfaces.  However, this answer raises several questions, for me at least, since the description of the V15 Detect Digital Motorbar says it automattically adjusts for various floor surfaces:

Questions

  1. the center setting, which is the default setting, is an “upside down triangle”, is this the setting for “Automatic adjustment”?
  2. If the answer is yes, then are the “+” and “-” setting for manually setting the suction to a higher or lower setting that won’t change for the various surfaces?
  3. Is there somewhere on the Dyson website where I can read more about the Digital Motorbar?

Thank you in advance for your help

Michael

Hi @regmikewall,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

The Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum’s suction motor adjusts its suction power automatically when you have it set to Auto mode. It does this by detecting and reacting to the amount of dust and debris being picked up as you vacuum.

The Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head includes Dyson DLS™ technology which monitors brush bar resistance 360 times a second, intelligently adapting brush bar power as you move between different floor types.

Further to this, you can additionally fine-tune performance by adjusting the red slider on the Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head. This either opens or closes debris gates on the cleaner head’s leading edge - you can raise them for picking up larger debris, or close them to help deep clean high traffic areas of flooring.

Hope this helps - you can find out more about these features at Dyson.com.
