V15 Detect loose connections and poorly made

I currently have 4 months left on my warranty and plan on contacting customer service in the morning but wanted to share my opinion and experience with the Dyson V15 Detect. First of all for what you pay I see no reason why I should have to buy so many of the attachments separately. After paying what I did for the vacuum the last thing I want to or can even afford to do is buy an accessory so I can reach up high or down low or get into hard to reach places. Even if I wanted to I couldn’t actually buy some of the accessories because in the almost 2 years I’ve had my vacuum some of the accessories have yet to be available for purchase online. Ok, that’s the opinion part and now onto the facts…

I’m not sure how long I had the vacuum when I started noticing the connection between the wand and canister becoming loose. It kept getting worse so I contacted customer service via the online option and they felt it was the canister and sent me a replacement. I didn’t actually think the canister was the issue and was surprised to find that it was an issue I just didn’t realize it. When I put the new canister on I immediately realized the old canister had lost a fair amount of suction. This wasn’t obvious with the old canister because it happened slowly over the first few months of use. Anyway I again contacted support via the online chat and this time was given the runaround for nearly 3 months at which point I finally just called and was immediately put in touch with a dealer who had a wand in stock and they sent it to me no problem. The new wand resolved the original problem of the loose connection but here I am less than a year later with the exact same issue. I don’t abuse my vacuum but I do use it which is why I bought it. To see the same problem happening so quickly tells me even if they replace the wand I’ll likely have it happen again but my warranty will no longer pay to fix the problem. That’s a problem that I shouldn’t have to worry about but I am. On top of that I’ve also found a crack in the inner part of the motorized brush bar, the bar that the removeable part slides over as well as a crack in the part you hold (the part you attach the filter to). The problem isn’t a faulty part as in I got a bad one and a replacement will make it all better, the problem is the quality of the parts/vacuum in general. I don’t even know at this point what it is I’m going to say when I call tomorrow because honestly I want a different vacuum not something to make this one work for a few months.

The vacuum initially had amazing suction and the battery is enough for me to vacuum my entire tiny 900 sq ft house on one charge. I don’t love how messy it can be emptying the bin but that’s not a deal breaker like the build quality. I am and have been a faithful die hard Dyson owner since I bought my DC21 18 years ago (I still have it and it still works like a charm) but this purchase has me rethinking that. I’ll be honest and fair and say that this is the first and only stick vacuum I’ve ever owned so I can’t compare it to others but I don’t feel a good vacuum should make me question how well others are made. I’m sorry to say that you get what you pay for is not the case with this vacuum in any way shape or form, in fact it’s quite the opposite.
