My battery has died.
I could replace the AA cells in the pack… but I CAN NOT OPEN IT!
I’m able to re-solder some new AA cells into the pack (by profession I’m an electronic engineer)
Why is this not a user-serviceable part Dyson?

Hi
Welcome to the Dyson Community.
As you’ve mentioned, the battery pack itself isn't designed to be dismantled by the user. Soldering battery cells is not something we’d ever ask an owner to do.
Instead, the complete battery pack is engineered for quick and easy replacement at the end of it’s working life span. The old one can then be responsibly disposed of at most local household recycling centres.
You can find some guidance on helping prolong the lifespan of your Dyson cordless vacuum’s battery pack here:
We appreciate your feedback on the battery pack design, and we’ll be happy to pass this along to the right teams for you.
Thank you for your quick reply. I shall order a new battery pack and hope it gives me a couple of years further use of my V7.
Hi
No problem at all, glad we could help!
