As per title.
I used my V6 and went to put on charge only to be met with an alarm noise rather than the blue light.
It will now not work at all and has stopped making alarm noise

Alarming noise you say! I can only imagine it being an electric short. Parts are quite easy to replace. Start off with the battery/charger, then replace the handle component. All three should set you back anywhere between $60 - $150. It really depends if you decided to buy genuine parts (as Dyson say) or cheaper alternatives.
Replacing the whole thing might be a better option... Iād recommend the V11. Great piece of kit! Better all around, high runtime, stronger suction and easier to use š!
