Hi @Jeffsair
Thanks for sharing
!
Yikes - that’s definitely a picture that speaks a thousand words! I’m glad you and your wife are reassured to see everything that’s been captured within the filter media, knowing it’s not still circulating in the classroom air.
An interesting fact. Our filters use a total of 9 metres of pleated borosilicate microfibres, which capture ultrafine particles and allergens. There’s also a layer of activated carbon, to remove gasses and odours. The latest Dyson purifiers even detect and destroy formaldehyde!
Just for peace of mind! Your filters should usually be good for up to 12 months use, when your machine is used for 12 hours a day. You could always change them sooner if you wanted or if your machine is under heavier use or in a more polluted environment.
To better highlight this to our other owns, we’re added our ‘Spotlighted Posts’ tag.

Does the HP04 air filter only go in one way or is there a up and down installation method? Can I put it in upside down?
I saw an earlier thread about the new design catalytic filter. I wanted to clarify, should the additional pad on the new version be left inside the filter? I wasn’t sure if it was part of the packaging - especially since none of Dyson’s promotional or user manual information shows it. Thanks.
Wish we could all experience your joy!! Unfortunately, Dyson filters are NOT sold in my country, Thailand where AQI is 160 today - only FULL machines, nor in Finland, as noted in recent posts in this forum!
Note: A four month old post from Finland was completely ignored by Dyson imploring them to supply filters to Finland. Will my post be similarly ignored? Is Dyson intentionally restricting filter sales to rake in profit? Is there a more kind, thoughtful point of view I should adopt?
