Greetings. I am attempting to troubleshoot my elderly (she’s 91) neighbor’s DC41. I cannot figure out why the filer cannister won’t fit properly (there is a large gap between the bottom of the cannister and the lower unit intake port). Based on everything I see nothing is broken, and she swears that she has never replaced any parts or otherwise. Totally lost on this one. Helllllllllp.

I don’t think you can order the base separately. A replacement will set you back about £30.
