Hi everyone, my name is Alex, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how we express love - for both people and things.
I have a wife, and one day, I gave her a Dyson as a gift for a special occasion. And no, it wasn’t because of Dyson’s aggressive marketing (at least, not directly aimed at me). It was more of a strategic move influenced by her friends and her love for scrolling through Instagram.
Every time we were getting ready for dinner, I would watch her dry her hair with such joy, styling it in different ways and then eagerly asking, “How do I look? Do you like it? See what an amazing gift you gave me?” And every time, I stood there thinking how wonderful it was to hear that from someone you love.
Then, an interesting thought crossed my mind - what if everything could express joy like that? Even inanimate objects? That’s when I remembered my beloved car. It never says a word, yet it’s always there for me, faithfully enjoying every oil change in complete silence.
Every time I return home, especially after driving in the rain, I take my car to a nearby hand car wash. I carefully wash it, but sometimes, I don’t have time to dry it with a cloth. So instead, I take a few slow laps around the neighborhood, letting the wind blow away the leftover water, before parking it in the garage to enjoy its well-earned cleanliness and dryness in peace.
And that’s when the idea hit me - why doesn’t Dyson bring joy to our silent, beloved machines as well? With the kind of power Dyson has in its devices, why not create a high-powered blower that could dry a car in minutes after a wash? Here in the Czech Republic, every hand car wash has vacuum cleaners available for use - I would happily pay for a Dyson-powered dryer to make my car just as happy as my wife.
What do you think? Maybe it’s time to give our silent companions a voice - at least in the form of a powerful burst of air!
