Cleaning the cyclone on a V6

Please can you tell me how do I clean all the clogged fine dust that is behind the mesh on the cyclone? The instructions say to use the brush attachment but I need to get the contents from inside out. When I shake it, some dust comes out a bit like shaking flour through a sieve but some of it has clogged and won't move.

Any tips would be welcome.

Hi @shambhala,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

It’s normal for harmless static generated in use to cause fine dust particles to cling to parts of the clear bin and cyclone pack. Firmly tapping the top of the cyclone pack each time you empty your machine should dislodge and remove much of this. You could also use something like a small brush to clean the inside of the cyclone pack if you wanted to clean it more thoroughly.

Any traces of dust remaining shouldn’t create issues with performance unless it’s blocking ducts that airflow needs to pass through.

Hope this helps!
