Can anyone tell me if the holes in the Gen 5 Detect dock are in the same place as previous models such as the V15 Outsize as I have only got one place I can put it so the holes need to match up with the holes I already have

Nope. The two screw holds are wider apart. It’s a completely different dock than their pervious stick vacs. The battery has a longer profile. Give this film a watch and check our the install instructions on the Aussie website.

To remove it: I gave mine a sharp smack on the bottom. popped right off. I agree it, poor design, but I could still remove it.
If it arrives pre-fitted: There isn’t a way to pry it apart once it’s together like that. You’ll need to have Dyson send you a new dock.
