dyson hair straightners grabbed and pinched hair plates faulty

I purchased Dyson hair straighteners as I fell in love with my Dyson air wrap.

but on using it, the plates would grab my hair and I was in pain, so I gave up and went back to my GHD’s.
I have contacted Dyson today as I thought I wondered if they could help.
the call went to video and the customer service confirmed the plates was off balance and was faulty, but because they are out of warranty even though I have only used once they could only offer me a 25 % discount on my next order.

I am not happy as yes the item is out of warranty but the item was faulty when I purchased it and could not use.

i can’t sell on to someone as they are faulty and will not do that, but Dyson is not holding responsibility for producing a faulty item.
I am looking into my rights as a consumer.

i could get a better deal on Black Friday than a 25% discount, not happy I have requested for the matter to be escalated further.
I already have a Dyson air wrap and Dyson hoover and Dyson air flow, after this will go elsewhere for my hair products.
I think I will stick to GHD a lot better quality in goods for hair care in the future.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes it an implied term of the contract I have with Dyson that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

As you are in breach of contract and I've owned the product between 6 months and 6 years, I am within my statutory rights to ask for it to be replaced.

dyson has now replaced my item free of charge for a refurbished model with a years guarantee
