Why my Dyson Airwrap i.d.curl button is not working?


Help! It's been a month since I bought the Dyson Airwrap id. I connected it via bluetooth with app on my phone, every time I styled my hair.


Everything was going well until today I had a problem. I doubt it is related to app, but nevertheless the power button for id curl was not working as usual. I tried it several times(slides it up and release) and again it didn't showed me the seconds that the hair will be styled (wrapping, styling, cold shot). I thought maybe it was a problem with the filter, but cleaned it to make sure and again it didn't work.

 

I don't know where the problem is, I'm very worried about this. 
Can you help me how to fix it?

I have solved this by uninstalling the App and reinstalling. Now works.

The same thing happened to mine today, and I’ve only had it for a week. Unfortunately, customer support wasn’t helpful at all with this issue. I’m very disappointed.

Same issue! I also got it a month ago. I think if we’re all having this issue it may be related to the app.

The same to me. I purchased my Airwrap on October 25, tried the feature only once, and since then the i.d. button doesn’t work.

Upd: In the MyDyson app settings, try turn off and on the i.d. curl feature. This helped me. But when you close the app and open it again, you should repeat this trick.

I have solved this by uninstalling the App and reinstalling. Now works.

Reinstalling the app helped me!


I’m sorry but how can this be resolved. It’s not resolved. Why should we pay nearly £500 and have to constantly reinstall. It’s not good enough. 
I am now on my third one in 3 weeks and this one will surely happen too. Also I have just noticed that it jumps from wrapping to cool so hot isn’t even working on the ID. 

There’s clearly a fault that needs to be rectified. Dyson should be recalling them all and provide a product that works as it should do. 

This is poor standards from Dyson, ignoring a manufacturer fault in their product.

It’s not the actual air wrap though. It’s probably a bug on the app. No doubt updates will become available and it’s not that hard to uninstall and install again. Takes less than five mins. 


Really? You’re supporting this? The whole point is the convenience of it and reinstalling the app in certainly not convenient and not what I paid for. You expect a product to work as it should do. Like I said I’m on my third one now and it’s not good enough. Next time I will be going back for a refund. 
Disappointing. I don’t have the time to concentrate on my hair which is why I wanted the ID let alone reinstalling it all the time.

To be honest I think you’re going over the top about it. The product itself still works. It doesn’t shut down because the app has gone wrong and yeah it takes two mins to reset it. I do have two mins to do it. Yes I’ve only had to do it once but if I have to do it again I will do. I don’t understand how changing the product helps. It’s the app not the product which still works. 


Jane B obviously works for Dyson community to constantly make a point that the machine works so why care if the ID works or not….. because that’s the feature I wanted this for.

My last one also jumped from wrapping to cool down, missing out the heat part. I suppose that’s ok too!

Let’s see if the ID on my 3rd one fails again. I won’t hold my breath.

I don’t work for Dyson or the community.  I’m a new buyer and have only had it since 17 Oct and had one problem with it. Took two mins to fix. I’m happy. If you’re not that’s not my problem. You do what you want to do and if the hassle of changing it fixes it for you then so be it, do it.

I can’t even get my brand new airwrap i.d. to connect to the app! It keeps saying “device not compatible with app” when I scan or manually enter the serial number. I just got it yesterday. Support claims they have no idea how to help me and I’m stuck with a device I can’t even connect. Paying over $600 for a brand new device and I can’t even use it is beyond ridiculous.
