New Dyson WashG1 - Debris/drip tray keeps coming off the machine

The debris/drip tray keeps falling off the machine whenever it is lifted. The previous discussion didn’t provide any useful information. If there are further details on how to ensure it is installed correctly please share!

From my own inspection it appears to be poorly designed. The red piece does not fit snugly into the grey piece and since this is the only the holding the grey piece onto the machine this is never going to work. 

I’m at least happy that I have the 45 day warranty. If I can’t find a solution to this soon I’ll definitely be sending it back.

Yes, Dyson support has agreed to replace the unit. However, I’m now on hold with Dyson for the forth time this week trying to get this sorted. First call promised to send a courier to pick up the unit but didn’t actually do anything. Called back after a few days and received an apology. They then proceeded to send me a packing slip to mail the unit back instead of organising a courier as it was agreed on the first call. They also hung up on me before the end of the call before I could point out the error or ask my secondary question as to why I hadn’t received the “free micro-fiber rollers” which was part of the reason we purchased online. Pretty sure they hung up as it was close to closing time for them. Gave up on the third call after waiting on call for far too long. I’m on hold again still trying to get this resolved.

Terrible experience so far.
