V12 Detect Slim Absolute failed after 10 months

My first dyson lasted a few years before it had a permanent failure. I felt like that was just bad luck. But now, after 10 months of use, my “new” dyson has completely failed again (giving messages to clear tubes that are already cleared, etc.).

Has the engineering and manufacturing degraded a lot over the years? I am going to buy a dirt devil for a time, since i have very low vaccuming needs to begin with (live alone in 1200 square feet; no shedding pets; no entertaining of others). does anyone know of an alternative that might be more reliable?

i have been in touch with support. They don’t have replacement filters so they are on back order. No timeline to replacement. (And not clear that will solve the problem). Meanwhile I have bought a new vaccuum cleaner, so the “emergency” is mitigated. I’ll update this periodically if they ever get this fixed. Turns out there are no service centers in Connecticut (which surprised me).
