Wool Loop

Hello, I have always owned Dyson vacuums. I have just had new wool loop carpets fitted and have been advised I need a suction only or delicate brush roll vacuum.

I have done lots of research and it seems there isn’t a Dyson vacuum suitable. I have been thinking about getting a Dyson V12 and buying an adapter to be able to use a suction only head. I haven’t been able to find anything that seems to fit that is a genuine Dyson product.

As a loyal Dyson customer I really don’t want to be forced to go back in time and end up with something like a clunky bagged sebo but it seems I don’t have a choice.

Any information greatly appreciated. I feel Dyson are missing a trick here as wool loop and sisal carpets and becoming more and more popular these days.

Many Thanks

Hi @Tomtom-p,

Thanks for your reply - we’ll be happy to make sure your feedback is shared with the correct teams for you.

From our current UK range, any of our upright models should be suitable when used with the brush bar switched off. Or if you prefer, our cylinder vacuums can be used with the Pneumatic Musclehead floor tool - which doesn’t include a rotating brush bar, and automatically adjusts between carpet and hard floor.

Hi @Tomtom-p,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

Although we develop our vacuums to work effectively across a wide range of popular floor coverings, we’d always defer to the flooring manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning - as they’re best-placed to advise on how to care for their product.

We don’t currently manufacture a passive floor tool suitable for use with Dyson cordless vacuums. If you can confirm which country you’re based in, we may be able to recommend other machines from our range which may be a better fit for your needs - including our upright vacuums, which allow you to switch off the brush bar for hard or delicate floor surfaces.

We’ll look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Jack,

I am based in the UK.

Its is real shame - I have found online the flat out head attachment which I was trying to source an adapter for so it could fit one of your cordless vacuums. This seems like an easy fix if Dyson manufactured an adapter.

If you have any other suggestions this would be much appreciated. I have seen than sebo and Miele offer alternative brush bars with softer bristles which are made specifically for wool loop and sisal carpets.
