I am not a fan of cordless Dysons. I have owned 3 dc24’s, a beautiful lightweight model which suited my arthritic hands. My last model (second hand) has sadly died and I’m lost without it. Judging by the number of dc24’s being snatched up on eBay and Facebook marketplace there is definitely still a big market for them.

Dyson DC24 was certainly revolutionary back when it first launched in 2008. Weighing just 5.4kg, it still managed to include pioneering Dyson Ball™ technology and Root Cyclone™ technology, as well as a handle that compressed for compact storage.
We don’t currently plan to resurrect DC24, as our technology has evolved and improved since DC24 was developed, but we do still include corded upright vacuums in our range. At 7kg, the Dyson Ball™ Animal upright weighs a little more than DC24, but offers many of the same features. I know you’ve mentioned you’re not a fan of cordless vacuums, but our new Dyson V12 Detect Slim™ vacuum has a single button power control - so you don’t have to hold down a trigger to keep the machine running. It’s also lightweight and compact, at just 2.2kg - and with a maximum of 150AW, it actually has more suction than DC24. Hi, yes that is helpful. However I am a little confused! The Dyson ball animal original weight shown at 7 kg but on your site the Dyson ball Animal weight show is 5.6kg.
I can’t see what the difference between them. Is the Dyson ball animal 5.6kgs?

I’m sorry for the confusion here. The specification for weight on our website is incorrect - I’ve fed this back to the correct teams, and they’re working on getting this updated as we speak!
To be clear, the correct weight for the Dyson Ball Animal is 7kg. The Dyson Ball Animal Origin is similar but with a slightly longer power cord and larger bin capacity, and weighs 7.4kg.
