How do I connect my new Dyson Gen5detect™, Gen5outsize™ or V15 Detect™ vacuum's wand to the main body?

The Dyson Gen5detect™ and Gen5outsize™ vacuums, and some variants of the Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum, include a convenient new feature - the Built-in dusting and crevice tool.

We know Dyson owners love the convenience of switching instantly to handheld mode with a click! But this feature means that the steps to assemble your machine for the first time are slightly different to previous Dyson cordless vacuums you may have owned.

When you’re using your Dyson Gen5detect™ or Dyson V15 Detect™ vacuum with its wand attached, the Built-in dusting and crevice tool needs to be attached to the main body first. The clear section at the top of the wand then fits over this:

Why is this not shown in the assembly guide that comes with the vacuum??  This was very frustrating.
