To keep your Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cordless vacuum working at its best, it needs simple regular maintenance.
This includes emptying the bin before the MAX mark is reached, washing the soft roller brush bar and washing the filter unit once a month.
Important: Please don’t put any part of your machine in a dishwasher, or clean it using detergents, polishes or air fresheners.
How do I wash my Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cordless vacuum’s filter unit?
In normal use, the filter unit should be washed at least once a month.
- Wash the outside of the filter, rubbing with your fingers to remove the dirt.
- Wash the inside of the filter; hold it upright under the cold water tap and agitate using a rotating motion. Then fill the filter with water, place your hand over the open end and shake.
- Repeat these steps until the water runs clear.
- After washing, gently tap the filter unit to remove any excess water.
- Leave the filter unit to air-dry completely for at least 24 hours in a warm, well ventilated area.
How do I wash my Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cordless vacuum’s soft roller?
The Soft roller cleaner head has a washable brush bar - check and wash regularly, or as needed.
- Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger before removing the brush bars.
- Be careful not to turn on the machine.
- Wash the brush bar using cold water without detergent.
- Remove as much excess water as possible, allow at least 24 hours for the brush bar to air dry completely in a warm, well ventilated area before reassembling your machine.
Important: Brush bars from other Dyson cleaner heads should never be washed or submerged. This could cause damage not covered under your Dyson guarantee.
How do I check my Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cordless vacuum for blockages?
Dyson Micro 1.5kg™ cordless vacuums are engineered to make a pulsing sound to let you know if something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine. If your machine detects a blockage, the motor will pulse six times, before shutting off for protection. A blockage could occur if an item too large for the machine is accidentally vacuumed up.
Our video support guide will help you identify and remove any obstructions from the Soft roller cleaner head, wand and bin inlet.
It's also a good idea to give the filter unit a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once a month.
Always ensure you disconnect your machine from the charger cord before carrying out any maintenance, and take care not to touch the power button.
