Faulty Unit out of the box and non existent customer service

Can somebody advise how I can get a replacement unit.

I ordered a new handheld hoover, it arrived the following day and was faulty out of the box - the battery does not charge.

having video called tech support, made further calls and emails to customer service I have been promised a replacement part, but nothing- I have no confidence in the process at all

any assistance appreciated
