dyson cyclone v10 animal end cap stuck to brush

Hi all,

We are using a Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal and keep having issues with the end cap heating up and getting stuck / melting to the brush. As a result, the brush won’t turn anymore.

I have tried all kinds of things, e.g. throroughly cleaning the brush, mounting a new brush and end cap. But after just a few minutes, the end cap gets really hot and then seems to melt to the brush so the brush cannot turn anymore and get stuck.

We have spent quite some money on spares so would appreciate some advice on what the problem could be and how to fix it. Many thanks in advance.

Hi @GinChilla,

Welcome to the Dyson Community! This sounds like an unusual issue with the Motorhead’s brush bar and end cap, and to help pinpoint the cause we'll need our Customer Care experts to take you through some further troubleshooting checks when you have your Dyson Cyclone V10™ vacuum fully charged and easily to hand. If a replacement part or a repair is needed, they’ll be able to confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty.

Please visit Dyson.com and click the round purple button to launch the Dyson Digital Assistant. Then click the agent icon in the bottom left corner of the chat window to start a conversation with our Customer Care team.

We'll look forward to speaking with you!
