Getting a static shock - Suggestions?

I have a v7 Origin. While vacuuming a small area rug, on tile, I’m getting shocked by what I’m guessing is a build up of static electricity. I wear tennis shoes so I thought I was grounded. Any remedies to stop/prevent this?

Hi @glenn5876

Several factors can contribute to build-up of static charge in an appliance like a vacuum. You may notice static more when humidity is low, on carpets or rugs with high synthetic content, or when picking up a large amount of fine dust.

We’d recommend wiping your machine with a slightly damp cloth or an anti-static wipe after use, to help dissipate any charge which has built up.

Hope this helps!
