I just got my dyson machine and I pressed the clean button not knowing what it does and I ran a clean cycle without the cleaner packet. Can someone tell me what effects this will have on my machine?

Zero. It’s just a fully system flush. With the cleaning packet, it only helps to push through/break down any built up material.
