Dyson goes off during vacuuming and discharges battery completely

Hello everyone, our Dyson V11 has been having massive problems for a few weeks now. It suddenly went out and discharged the battery completely, so that it was defective and could not be revived even in the charging station.

We then bought a new battery and the vacuum cleaner now works sporadically. Nevertheless, despite sufficient remaining runtime, the vacuum cleaner simply goes out again and the battery is completely drained again.

We then have to fully charge it again so that we can vacuum for 5 minutes and then start all over again.

If the vacuum cleaner is left in a corner, it also discharges completely after around 5-6 hours.

I suspect that an electrical part is faulty. It's obviously not the battery, could it be the pole or the suction foot?

Hi @raff_ti

Welcome to the Dyson Community! This sounds like an unusual issue - it shouldn’t shut off in use, and the battery shouldn’t drain completely if unused for a short period of time. There could be an issue with the main body assembly - but to make sure we’re correctly pinpointing the cause we'll need our Customer Care experts to take you through some further troubleshooting checks when you have your Dyson V11™ vacuum fully charged and easily to hand. If a replacement part or a repair is needed, they’ll be able to confirm if this is covered under your Dyson warranty.

Please visit Dyson.com and click the round purple button to launch the Dyson Digital Assistant. Then click the agent icon in the bottom left corner of the chat window to start a conversation with our Customer Care team.

My Dyson V11 does the same thing - completely drains the battery when left just sitting for some hours.  Did you find a solution, or is the main body/motor just bad?
