How does the vacuum cleaner deals with big particals? | Dyson Community

Hi guy,

i just got dyson v12 and i was wondering how big of particles it can handle and what could cause it to be blacked? I have kids in the house and they do leave tissues and socks under the furnitures, though I don’t expect the vacuum to suck such big particles, but my question is would it just move around it or would it be sucked and block the machine? And if it gets blocked how to deal with it

Hi @Sumaia,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

Dyson vacuums are engineered to pick up ordinary household dust, debris, and pet and human hair across carpet and hard flooring - as well as upholstery, counter tops, stairs, mattresses, pet bedding, and inside the car.

We would recommend removing items like tissues and socks from the ground before vacuuming - they could be pulled into the motorised cleaner head and stall the brush bar. We make checking for and removing blockages as easy as possible, but it’s always better to avoid these if at all possible!

Hope this helps!
