If Google Assistant did not respond to your most recent request, it is possible that what you said may not have been recognised as a question or command.
To make sure Google Assistant recognises your request, speak clearly and ensure you are close enough to your device to be heard.
To check if Google Assistant is able to hear you, just ask "Hey Google, what did I just say?". Your smart home device should light up when you say "Hey Google ...". If your device has a screen, you'll see it respond.
