Hi,
I remember this issue. Electric voltage in the Europe and Americas is indifferent. It will not work and is overloaded.
Dyson might help - This will help.

Hi Darlin!
I have relatives stateside and fly ever summer.
I had to buy a $50 hair dryer at Costco. The Dyson one wouldn’t switch on, even with an adapter! Worked like a charm once I landed back in the UK.
I hope this will help. Dyson webpage has a fault checker. I suggest checking that out before calling.

Best of luck now!
