Why won’t my New Dyson Airstrait turn on? (On my second replacement!) | Dyson Community

I finally purchased the Dyson Airstrait and was very excited to try it but after following the instructions to test the machine, the ‘Dyson’ logo appeared for a split second and then the display went off. All buttons were not responsive. I reset the plug again and tried again, this time after the Dyson logo, the picture of the self clean display appeared and then quickly disappeared. Again I reset the plug as no buttons on the machine would work and the plug made a weird noise and the reset button was stuck. I went through troubleshooting with Dyson and they exchanged the machine. The second machine again just showed the Dyson logo and then switched off. Dyson customer service just said that was very strange, they couldn’t offer an explanation and offered another exchange. I even asked for a different colour in case it was a faulty batch but the third has the exact same problem. Has anyone else had this problem? I really want this machine to work but think it’s pointless exchanging again. 
I found an old thread on here with people experiencing the same issue but there was no resolve and the thread was closed.

Welcome to the Dyson Community, and thanks for letting us know about this.

Just to check, have you tried testing your machine in a different socket, just to rule out the socket itself as the issue? We do also advise against using Dyson machines in conjunction with extension cords as this can also contribute to power-related issues - so if you’ve been using your machine with an extension cord, please test it plugged directly into the wall socket.
