The on and off switch on my Dyson Ball Animal 2 Total Clean you have to quick flick back of switch, sometimes several times to get it to start

Agreed! Electric fault or short. You’ll need an engineer to review/repair it. Not an easy fix yourself, I wouldn’t suggest it if your still in the 5-year guarantee.
