How can I get help with my Dyson vacuum's wand?

Has anyone had problems with the fragile, badly engineered (in my opinion) quick-clean wand on the V15?   Had my Dyson for less than a year and the wand cracked up near the main body of the vacuum.   I’ve Duct taped the wand and it’s semi-usable, but I don’t want to go on indefinitely like this, and shouldn’t have to with an expensive vacuum as this.

I looked on the Dyson site and the replacement part is on backorder. Unit is still under warranty, so I called customer service and Dyson said they’d send me a replacement when the part came in.   This was in Jan 2025.    Evidently the wand is a hard to get item, especially when it’s so cheaply made I’m sure that’s why the stock is depleted. Or, Dyson’s figured out how badly designed the part is and has discontinued it…?   Which should trigger some type of recall.

I called customer service again, today, a month later, and the part is still on backorder with no idea when it would get back in.   The solution is to send me a new unit - fair enough, but it requires me to send my existing unit back and then wait approximately 18 BUSINESS days...once they receive the old unit.  That’s at least another month.  I asked why not just send me a new unit, and when I receive it I’ll return the old one, in the box that the new unit comes in.   No, can’t do that!  It’s “against our process”.  So I’ll go at least, at least, a month without a vacuum (no I won’t, I’ll buy a cheap one to stand in) but it’s the principle of misaligned and non-proactive customer service that irritates me here.   There are companies that will replace a bad unit by sending out a new one RIGHT AWAY and trust the customer to send the bad one back.  Sweetwater is one that I have personal experience with on that.

So will I buy a Dyson again, or refer Dyson to a friend?   The jury is still out, but if I had to answer today, it would be NO.   They appear to be cheaply made now, which I would not expect from a premium $$ product, but that seems to be more and more the norm nowadays but I’m surprised at Dyson - they’re not publicly traded, but sure are acting like they are.
