UP13 Ball Vacuum motor howling constantly

My 4 year old, lightly used UP13 Ball vacuum makes a loud howling sound continually when the motor is running.  The suction is great.  There are no obstructions and I have examined all the seals and washed the filter.  I think I have isolated the noise to the motor because I have removed nearly everything but the motor and it sounds like it is coming from that.  The noise does not start immediately when it is turned on.  After vacuuming for 5-10 seconds it starts and the howling is non-stop until it is turned off.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

An unusual noise as you’ve described can sometimes be caused by a seal which is missing, damaged or slightly out of place.

To help pinpoint the cause we'll need our Customer Care experts to take you through some further troubleshooting checks when you have your Dyson Ball upright easily to hand. If a replacement part or a repair is needed, they’ll be able to discuss your options with you.
