I am considering buying the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool™ Formaldehyde HP09 purifying fan heater but I am reluctant to until I know it it support Matter (I’m not expecting Thread support as well but that would be a nice bonus) so it will fit in with the rest of my smart home.

it would be nice to get an update from Dyson about when they are likely to support Matter and if any existing products will be updated to support it.

Hi @gtwr,

Thanks for your question! At this time, we don’t have any further updates to share around integration with Apple HomeKit, Matter or Thread. Our teams of engineers are always busy developing and refining both the hardware and software of our machines - but we can’t reveal anything they may or may not be working on until we’re ready to launch.

We understand there’s a keen interest in this area, and if we do ever have any news to share on this topic we’ll make sure our Dyson Community members are kept in the loop!

We just bought the big+quite BP04. Costs about 1000 EUR. Quite frustrating in 2024 Homekit is not supported for a smart device that expensive. The app is only useful if you have that device as an ornament. We have tons of devices and everything uses automation etc. and everything works in harmony. Only dyson is the exception.

Is there like a beta channel where we could test a release, if dyson is already working on this? I would love to help as a beta tester if it would speed up the process. It doesn’t matter if all features of the device are present on the homekit, for me setting the fan level or auto, switching on and off the device and the air quality metrics would be sufficient.

Screenshot below is what I use with the Homebridge project, but unfortunately BP04 is not maintained. E.g. if you click on Oscillate, it crashes. probably because it doesn’t need to have an oscillate mode.

I’d expect Dyson to provide a solution to this and not some free OSS developer.

I own two Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde units. It would be great if I could view information about my air quality and control my purifiers through HomeKit.

Well, it’s been two years + now since the integration with Apple HomeKit queries appeared on the site here and yet still it would appear that Dyson have no interest in licensing from Apple and are still intent on only offering their valued customers who own one or more of their overpriced products, a ‘shortcut work around’.

Disappointing at best from a company with such high self esteem!

Even the app is very basic, I wonder what their “thousands of engineers” are doing im sure this consists of software engineers.

Sadly we just discovered this thread after purchasing ng the hot+cool+formaldehyde.

extreamly disappointed and we won’t be recommending any Dyson products untill Apple HomeKit is enabled.

it does not matter if you like Apple HomeKit or not - the fact is most people have Apple and want an easy way to see all their items in one area without complex add on. Some have even choosen apple for security reasons so not having applehome kit compatible products that are over $1000 is not going to help Dyson see more products sold.

at least announce the roadmap to it as lack of information will show they don’t care.

If the software integration is implemented like the most recent big + quiet firmware update I wouldn't be expecting much at all, the software with the BP03 has taken a massive nosedive with the ambient light sensor functionality just being messed up.

Support from various outlets is none existent.

Bump

still a high demand for Apple home kit integration. We are looking at our next fan purchase and it’s does not look like it will be Dyson. Considering Meross just for the integration. Biggest requirements when we leave home Apple home kit turns everything off.

Hi @SmartHome Reviews,

Thanks for your feedback. I can only reiterate on what I’ve said previously on this thread - if we ever have news to share on this topic, you’ll hear it here first!

I had been waiting for Dyson Homekit Integration since i got it and now , i couldnt wait enough , I have been banging my heads on the search , experimenting some ways . Since i have most of my other smart devices connected to apple home, i wanted dyson too . a few days back , Looked for Plugins and found some from here

ConnectHomekit -3 Ways to Connect Dyson to Homekit

i am thinking of try this- but not sure how effecrively it may work as a direct support and probably i also dont want to waste my time , but something is better than nothing at all  . I Will try out soon .

The Dyson pure cool Homebridge plugin works really well, I have all my wifi enabled purifiers connected to apple home this way and it's pretty good.
