I bought a hairdryer in Japan and the seller told me that it was for 100 Volts, as in Brazil the voltage is 110 volts, I believe it works, but when I plug it into the socket, the LEDs light up and then they go out and the dryer doesn't work. Is this the cause of it not turning on or could it be another problem. Thanks.

Hi @Olavo Xavier,

Welcome to the Dyson Community!

A Dyson machine manufactured for sale in Japan will not include INMETRO certification for use in Brazil.

The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has been precisely engineered for use with the standard voltage of the country it was purchased in.

Using it in a country where the voltage range differs to the country of purchase could result in permanent damage being caused. A machine manufactured for use in one country may become inoperable in another. Please follow the guidance on usage in the guarantee section of your User guide.

For this reason, it would be our strong recommendation not to use a machine purchased within Japan in Brazil.

I hope this answers your question!

Dear Jack,

I understand and thank you for your response, and I take responsibility for the equipment not working outside of Japan, but as equipment is manufactured to operate in a voltage range, energy companies are usually unable to supply a fixed voltage, for example in the case of Brazil, Equipment is designed to operate within a range of 110 to 120 volts. In this case I am asking what voltage the dryer can operate on the cable, it is indicated as 100 Volts but I would like to know what range it can operate on

I bought a powe transformer 3.000 Va 127 v 100 v and the dryer is working fine. Thanks
